WATERFOWL HUNTING IN MAINE

Northern Maine is one of the best kept secret of the Atlantic Flyway. Experience the Thrill of Hunting Migrating Birds with Our Scout-based Approach. Our hunting grounds are situated along the migratory path of birds flying down from the St. Lawrence Seaway and northern Quebec nesting areas to the Atlantic coast.

What makes us stand out is our dedication to scouting. Instead of waiting for the birds to come to us, we track their movements and go where they are. Trust us to do the leg work and ensure that you have the best hunting experience possible.

Waterfowl hunting in Maine

Northern Maine is an excellent location for waterfowl hunting, as it offers a chance to hunt unpressured ducks and geese on their initial stop during migration. We offer the hunter the opportunity to hunt trophy Dabbling and Diving ducks as well as Canadian geese at their first stop of the migration.

We hunt ducks and geese using an array of different tactics including layout blinds, boat blinds and natural blinds.

Madawaska has ample farmland with miles of agriculture as well as some of the biggest lakes and rivers in the region which makes for excellent waterfowl roosting and feeding habitat.

Common Waterfowl Species In Our Area

There is a wide array of waterfowl found in Maine from the American Black duck to the huge Eiders of the coast. Dabbling ducks common in Maine are the American black duck, the mallard, green-winged teal, blue-winged teal, and wood duck.

Hunting Zones

NorthMaine is divided into three zones: northern, southern, and coastal. Our hunting expeditions take us to the northern zone, where the season runs consecutively from the last week of September to the first week of December.

We focus on the prime part of the season, which spans from the second week of October through the third week of November.

Meet Lucy, our trained English Lab retriever. If you have a friendly retriever of your own, feel free to bring them along too! Just be sure to inform us beforehand.
